Good Morning! Here’s what happened in the world of sports on Monday, August 11.
MLB
Here we go!
Former Astro Alex Bregman homered in his very first at-bat back in Houston. The home team had the last laugh, however, as the Astros beat the Red Sox 7-6.
Jake Burger drilled a walk-off single off the left field wall to give the Texas Rangers a comeback victory, 7-6 over the Diamondbacks in 10 innings.
Zach Neto has hit two home runs and the Angels are currently beating the Dodgers 7-4. We’ll see if they hold on…
And of course, the Milwaukee Brewers Pancakes extended their win streak to 10 games.
TENNIS
A power outage, a mid-match fire alarm, and another day of suffocating heat at the Cincinnati Open… but nothing could overshadow the brilliant battle between defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and Emma Raducanu. The two competitors played for over three hours, including a game in the third set that lasted 23 minutes. In the end, the top-seeded Sabalenka emerged with a 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 victory. But both players– and the fans– could hold their heads high after putting on quite a show.

Nancy Faust literally invented walk-up music. ❤️
She began playing organ for the White Sox in 1970, and held that role for over 40 years.
Her story is incredible.
