Paul vs Pancakes; Triples is best
Good Morning! Here’s what happened in the world of sports on Tuesday, August 13.
MLB
Once again, we begin our morning with Major League Baseball:
Who would win: the best pitcher in baseball, or a magical group of friends on a 10-game win streak powered by pancakes? Well, we have an answer. The Brewers knocked Paul Skenes out of the game with four runs in just four innings, and went on to demolish the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-0. That’s 11 wins a row for Milwaukee.
Congratulations to the new all-time Mets home run leader, Pete Alonso. The Polar Bear passed Daryl Strawberry with his 253rd blast in last night’s 13-5 win over the Braves.
The Dodgers are a shocking 0-4 against the Angels this year, and the game is currently tied 5-5 in the ninth inning. No matter what the final score is, however, the Halos earned the night’s top highlight. Take a look at this:

TENNIS
A thunderstorm shortened yesterday’s action at the Cincinnati Open. So while we wait for the weather to cooperate, here are some of my favorite photos I’ve taken at the tournament so far:

NOTEWORTHY NEWS
Shohei Ohtani and his agent are being sued by a real estate developer in Hawaii. Usually this is the kind of story I’d wait on including, but I’m telling you about it because it concerns the best baseball player in the world. Just know that we don’t have all the details yet… I have a feeling there may not really be much of a story in the end.
TODAY’S BIG PODCASTS (all times Eastern)
NEW HEIGHTS: Jason and Travis Kelce are joined by a special guest at 7 PM… it’s a sports podcast, this counts!
Well we’ve got a late-breaking story right before publishing was scheduled… guess who just hit a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning against his former team?
Four straight games with a home run for Shohei Ohtani!

…and the Angels tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. We’ll all have to check the score in the morning!
