ICYMI: Freddie Freeman walks it off
Yeah, I know today is Saturday… but you have to see this:
The Dodgers beat the Yankees in one of the greatest playoff games in recent memory. A few other highlights from Game One:
Jack Flaherty and Gerrit Cole with a top-notch pitcher’s duel for 5+ innings
Shohei Ohtani steals an extra base after a line-drive double; Mookie Betts drives him in with a sacrifice fly
Fan interference! How do you think that guy feels right now?
This unbelievable Alex Verdugo catch that was immediately relegated to a footnote in baseball history.
And so many other little moments that made this game special… Tommy Edman saves a run with a diving stop, Jazz Chisholm steals two bases in the 10th, the decision to bring in Nestor Cortes for his first action in almost two months. This was postseason baseball at its finest.
But no moment compares to Freddie’s home run, the first walk-off grand slam in World Series history. A swing reminiscent of another legendary Dodger:
SHE IS ... GONE!!
1988 meets 2024
Absolute chills
